The Town of Bean Station

Founded in 1776, Bean Station in one of Tennessee's oldest communities and a historic crossroads of early American frontier travel. Named after frontiersman William Bean, the town grew along the Wilderness Road and Great Indian Warpath, serving settlers and travelers moving west into Tennessee. Bean Station later became known for its historic tavern and its role during the Civil War during the Battle of Bean's Station in 1863.

Today, Bean Station is a welcoming community surrounded by the natural beauty of Cherokee Lake and the mountains of East Tennessee. Rich in history and small-town charm, it remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family while preserving the heritage and traditions that have shaped the town for generations.
